About the event
Basement Films is taking part in the Albuquerque Museum's January Third Thursday. This month’s event celebrates creativity, sustainability, and second chances—featuring artists and community organizations sharing hands-on ways to compost, recycle, repair, and responsibly let go. Explore art made from non-traditional and upcycled materials, catch a new bite-sized experience, enjoy a series of Tiny Talks and DIY Demonstrations.
Basement Films will be in the auditorium, showing handmade 16mm found footage film loops from 5pm-7pm. We'll also give a short talk about Basement Films long history of salvaging discarded media and equipment for preservation and to make new creative work. At 8pm we'll premiere a found footage film by Basement Films member James Lawrence: Untitled 1 (Zuzax) [Working Title] with a score written and performed by Steve Jansen and Jeph Jerman.
